Final Thoughts Know everything about building practice, materials and the people who built them in the last 100 years. Alternatively, get a good nights sleep.

Le Test Friday, May 1 st from noon to 2:30pm. The test will be similar to our mid-term, there will be multiple sections of the examination. The 1 st section will show you images and ask you questions about the what the new materials, techniques of construction, or organizations important to architectural changes of the late 19 th and 20 th centuries were (only from the second half of the class). The 2 nd section will be a section that asks you to identify 20 th century fabric from images. (plastics, and blends) The 3 rd section will give you the 20 th century material and ask you to give the date it begins to be used in domestic construction (by decade). (It’s later than you think) The 4 th section will be a selection of essay questions about the changing materials and means we have talked about for twentieth century buildings. (The wryte stuffe)

Preparation for the final Please review the materials and new components of residential, educational, and commercial structures in the 20 th century. As you can see above, apply your knowledge of materials and methods as rough dating guides for building materials. As we have seen numerous times, the date of invention is not the date a product or process becomes commonly used. Consider what makes the materials of the twentieth century distinguishable. If you can only read a little of the required reading, read Tomlin’s introduction to 20 th century building materials. It isn’t a short course on the materials themselves, but an introduction to what the changes were.

Who did? Who are the new whos in the party of the 2 nd part of the class? There is no one person’s name you need to know, so Perhaps it’s better to ask: Which Whos did Horton hear? When did the which whos who become those who were important to hear?

Just study the subject as you would baseball know the positions. Lou Costello: Now who's playing third base? Bud Abbott: Why do you insist on putting Who on third base? Lou Costello: What am I putting on third? Bud Abbott: No. What is on second. Lou Costello: You don't want to tell me who is on second? Bud Abbott: Who is on first. Costello: I don't know. Together: Third base!
