Bland (adjective) a) Mild; soothing; not irritating b) Dull; lacking in interest EX. Jonathan’s chili is so bland that I have to add pepper to it to make it tasty.

Culinary (adjective) a) Pertaining to cooking or the kitchen EX. Jillian is improving her culinary skills by fixing breakfast for her family each morning.

Delectable (adjective) a) Greatly pleasing, especially to the sense of taste; delicious; delightful EX. Phillip enjoyed the delectable food in the Virgin Islands.

Devour (trans. verb) a) To eat up greedily; swallow; engulf b) To consume enthusiastically EX. The hungry puppy devoured his food.

Epicure (noun) a) A person with refined tastes in food and drink; a gourmet EX. Ellie is a notable epicure with a particular fondness for chicken dishes and baked desserts.

Morsel (noun) a) A bite or small amount of food b) A small piece; a tidbit EX. Brian’s mother always has a few choice morsels for us to nibble on after school.

Pungent (adjective) a) Sharp; strong; penetrating; producing a sharp sensation, usually of taste or smell EX. Garlic, cayenne pepper, and coriander are pungent spices.

Quaff (trans. verb) a) To drink heartily and deeply of EX. The thirsty girls quaffed the water happily after their three-mile run.

Ravenous (adjective) a) Extremely hungry EX. Dr. Anderson told me at my last doctor appointment that the reason teenagers are so ravenous is because they are growing so fast.
