 Mercury was named for the swift Roman messenger god.  Mercury takes only 88 Earth-days to make one orbit around the Sun.  Mercury is a planet of extreme temperature.

 Venus is the second planet from the Sun.  Venus is the second hottest planet.  Venus also has no moons.

 Earth is the only planet that can support life.  Earth is mostly made of water.  Earth is the third planet closes to the Sun.

 Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun.  Mars is 141 million miles from the Sun.  Mars has 2 moons.

 Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun.  Jupiter is 483 million miles from the Sun.  Jupiter has 16 known moons.
