The Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Award is: –The world’s premier student prize for innovative design, –The American Idol of aerospace, –A bridge between education and industry, –The premier educational tool for interesting students in STEM, –Incentivized Education.

And now, a drive-by-fruiting of the Award: –Two challenge opportunities: “Assume you can go to space. Create an innovative concept and business plan for personal spaceflight” “Assume you can go to the Moon. Create an entrepreneurial enterprise for lunar exploration.” –Business + Technical submissions –Final Competition at X PRIZE Cup Presentations of student concept Full program of activities at finalist event, Opportunities to connect directly to entrepreneurs, Judged by: business leaders, industry experts, and the public.

The Finalist Program: –Held at the X PRIZE Cup, –10 finalist teams selected in –Public “tradeshow” style display of concepts –Present to a panel of experts and the public –Special presentations from astronauts and entrepreneurs. –Workshops & Activities to assist further concept development. –1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place awards given at end of event.

The Bennies… –$20K in prize money available, –A trip to the X PRIZE Cup for all finalists, –Special opportunities to connect directly to the great scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs of our time, –Conrad Award Scroll to space, –Promotion at 12 Conrad Award events across the country, –Access to unique resources to help take finalist ideas to reality.

Space Grant Connection: being a Conrad Finalist supporter Goal 1: to ensure that all interested students in each state know about this opportunity. Goal 2: to send at least 1 student team per state to the Conrad Award final program each year. Goal 3: to grow the finalist program’s activites, workshops, and resources for students through connections to new partners. We seek your partnership to support at least 1 finalist team from your state. ~$2500 per team per year.
