Class 1: Dance Class Warm Up

 Explain what it means to “warm up”. From an anatomical and physiological standpoint what is the body doing to get “warmed up”?

 Warm Up – movement or phrase to raise core body temperature; prepare the body for movement; bring mind to focus  Space – area around you which extends in all directions (levels, pathways, shapes)  Personal space – your personal “bubble” ; arms’s length apart  General space – the area beyond your personal space; area that you can travel through
