CBP has furnished $9,660, to accomplish Phase I of this project. A total of twenty-six installations are scheduled to be completed in Phase I. World Trade Bridge is a Commercial Port therefore the system will be tested on commercial traffic. CBP has furnished $1,345, to accomplish this project. BACKGROUND: CBP and GSA entered into an agreement in August 12, 2005 for GSA to furnish the expertise and management to install the Prototype Non-Intrusive Fixed X-Ray Inspection system, infrastructure and enclosure at World Trade Bridge in Laredo Texas. CBP has funded $34,554, to accomplish this project. RPMs, at the completion of this program, will be installed on all POV and the Commercial lanes at all one hundred and sixty-five Border Crossings. RPMs are just one of the NII systems being installed to protect the border. The program not funded or initiated until September, 2005.CBP and GSA entered into an agreement in September, 2005 for GSA to furnish the expertise and management to install Customs and Border Protection identification at all Land Ports, Seaports, Airports Preclearance facilities and Border Patrol facilities. CBP furnished $348, to accomplish phase one of this project. CURRENT STATUS: As of April 2006, forty-three Border Patrol Facilities, ten Land Border Crossings and three Airports are under contract and are scheduled for completion by May 28, $107, has been obligated to date against the CBP funding. PROPOSED GSA SCHEDULE: Phase one, consisting of ten Land Ports, ten Airports, ten Seaports, fifteen Preclearance facilities, and seventy-five Border Patrol Stations, Sector Headquarters and Checkpoints is scheduled for completion by July, 2006.
