Major Offenses CMV A CDL holder is disqualified from driving a CMV if convicted of any of the following major offenses while operating a CMV 2a

Major Offenses CMV Having an alcohol concentration of 0.04 or greater Driving a CMV when, as a result of prior violations committed operating a CMV, the driver's commercial driver’s license (CDL) is revoked, suspended, or cancelled, or the driver is disqualified from operating a CMV Causing a fatality through the negligent operation of a CMV 2b

Major Offenses Disqualification Period Conviction for using a vehicle in the commission of a felony involving the manufacturing, distributing, or dispensing of a controlled substance is a lifetime disqualification. Driver is not eligible for reinstatement 3b

Serious Traffic Violations CMV and Non-CMV A CDL holder is disqualified from driving a CMV if convicted of any combination of two or more of the following serious traffic violations while operating any type of vehicle 4a

Serious Traffic Violations CMV and Non-CMV Excessive speeding, 15 mph or more above the posted speed limit Reckless driving Making improper or erratic traffic lane changes Following the vehicle ahead too closely Violating a state or local law relating to motor vehicle traffic control (other than a parking violation) arising in connection with a fatal accident 4b

Serious Traffic Violations CMV A CDL holder is disqualified from driving a CMV if convicted of any combination of two or more of the following serious traffic violations while operating a CMV 5a

Serious Traffic Violations CMV Driving a CMV without obtaining a CDL Driving a CMV without a CDL in the driver's possession Driving a CMV without the proper class of CDL and/or endorsements for the specific vehicle group being operated or for the passengers or type of cargo being transported 5b
