How the Vikings raided! By Fletcher Brockway

What ships where like The Vikings were really good sailors. The ships were made from light oak wood. They navigated by the sun and stars. There where sixteen oar ports on each side of the boat. The ship was very slim because they could travel down rivers.

What weapons the Vikings used The Vikings used axes most of the time because they are really sharp, and you would not won't to get chopped by one of these. The weapons they use were: axes, swords and wooden shields.

What armour Vikings used Vikings were very good at attacking but their armour was not that good. They wore: a fur hat, woollen tunic and some baggy trousers. And the warriors wore Iron helmets with nose protectors and chainmail chest pieces.

Mysterious heads At the prow of a Viking boat there was the magical head of a creature, for example a sea serpent, to scare away the other boats.
