Important Things to Remember Relationships – Parents won’t come to an activity because of the “program” but because of the relationship! Connected to Academic Achievement – Intentional Engagement – not just a “family engagement” activity so you are in compliance! “Think outside the box? … Get rid of the box all together!” Fausto Lopez Dual-Capacity Building – what are you doing for your staff to make sure they are able to engage families?

Peer Sharing Those with challenges: What are the difficulties you are experiencing in this area? Those experiencing successes: What family engagement “activity” did you do in this area? What were the successes? What worked well? What would you change? What could you improve on? How connect to program goals/ academic achievement? In what ways does it meet parent’s needs?
