Seacare OHS Forum Oct National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority Commonwealth Statutory Authority with an Advisory Board and public service staff By amendment of the Commonwealth Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act in 2003

Seacare OHS Forum Oct NOPSA Legislated Functions to promote the occupational health and safety of persons engaged in offshore petroleum operations; to develop and implement effective monitoring and enforcement strategies to secure compliance with the legislation; to investigate accidents, occurrences and circumstances and to provide lessons learnt to offshore petroleum operators; to advise persons on occupational health and safety matters relating to offshore petroleum operations; to report and make recommendations to Australian Government, State and NT Ministers; and to cooperate with Australian Government, State and NT agencies, and Designated Authorities to ensure effective regulation of offshore petroleum operations.
