Major Geographic Landforms of the U.S. Can you locate the Appalachian Mountains, the Rocky Mountains, The Grand Canyon, and the Coastal Ranges?

The Grand Canyon (Southwest Region) The Grand Canyon is a very colorful, steep-sided gorge, carved by the Colorado River, in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Park.

How big is the Grand Canyon? The Grand Canyon is very deep - in places it is over a mile deep. The canyon, created by the Colorado River cutting a channel over millions of years, is about 277 miles long, and ranges in width from 0.25 to 15 miles.
