4 4 Fourth Grade There are three types of telescopes. Telescopes allow us to see distant objects close up. Refracting telescopes. Reflecting telescopes. Radio telescopes. Some telescopes use mirrors or radio waves. It is an amazing invention created by humans. Scientist use telescopes. Amateur astronomers use telescopes.

5 5 Fourth Grade Why are they needed? Who uses them? What are they? How do they work? TELESCOPES scientists amazing invention Allow us to see distant objects up close mirrors refracting radio waves reflecting radio amateurs

6 6 Have you ever used a telescope? One of the most amazing inventions ever created by human is the telescope. The telescope allows us to see distant objects close up. There are three common types of telescopes. The first one is the refracting telescope. Although the picture is seen upside down, it provides the viewer with a very real image. Another type of telescope is the reflecting telescope. It uses two mirrors so that the image is seen correctly. One more telescope is the radio telescope. This uses radio waves to detect items in space. All of these telescopes are used by scientists and amateur astronomers to observe the stars and other heavenly bodies. Fourth Grade
