Luke 22:31-34 Persevering in Trials

“Ten years later…. I am now thankful for the misses, because to this day, they are helping guide me through some of life's toughest challenges … So let's celebrate the many misses we have in life, whether missed field goals, snaps that got away from you, or an occasional botched hold. Those dark moments may just be the predecessor of a really great moment.”

V.24- which one of them was regarded to be the greatest Matthew 4:18-20 The Call to follow (Twelve) Luke 5:1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him Acts 4:13 Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed The Transfiguration (Three of the twelve) Luke 9:28-33 Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray Matthew 14:28-29 Peter called out of the boat (one of twelve)

V.31- Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat Demanded- persistent, passionate asking Sift- Process used to separate wheat from its husk (chaff) Zechariah 13:7 "Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; You (plural) V.33- Lord, with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death. V.34- (Peter), before this day is over you will deny any association with me: not once, not twice, but three times!

V.32- I have prayed for you John 17:15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. John 17:20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Romans 8:33-34 Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

V.32- when once you have turned again Vs V.62- And he (Peter) went out and wept bitterly John 21:3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will also come with you.“ John 21:15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My lambs." John 21:19 And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me!"
