“My fellow pastors, be warned. Beginning well and having a wide approval with your congregation can easily be turned into discredit and disapproval by popular action and the will of God. Luis L. Pantoja Jr. August 31, 2010

The palm branches waved at us may actually be pointing to our Calvary. Now it is my turn to take up my cross afresh and follow Christ who will never deny having called me and set me apart for the ministry (Romans 11:29).” Luis L. Pantoja Jr. August 31, 2010

Mission and mortality motivate mentoring in the same way that duty and destiny dictate discipleship. Although the ministry tasks are similar, spiritual gifts and personality traits help determine the choice and deployment of Christian workers.

Paul and Timothy (I Tim. 1:1-2; II Tim. 1:1-18; Acts 16:1-3)

Half Jew half Gentile, Timothy was a timid (I Tim. 4:12; I Cor. 16:10- 11) but faithful disciple who became a believer during the first missionary journey of Paul and who accompanied him in the rest of his missionary journeys. Paul and Titus (Titus 1:1-4; II Cor. 7:5-16; 8:16-24)

“(God) has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (II Timothy 1:9-10)

No one is indispensable. No one will live forever. And the ministry of the gospel must persist. Therefore, God sends apprentices to us for continuity and succession of God’s mission: bringing the lost world back to Himself. Conclusion
