Who Are The Beatles The Beatles were a British pop rock group. From Liverpool. The group shattered many sales records and charted more then 50 top 40 hit singles, including 20 # 1’s in the USA alone, becoming arguably the most famous musical act of the 20 th century.

John Lennon John started out in a group that he started called the Quarrymen. That same year he met Paul McCartney and the two quickly started playing together. In February the two met George Harrison. John was murdered by Mark Chapmen right in front of his apartment. It was a shock to everyone.

Paul McCartney The Beatles Bassist was the one and the only Paul McCartney! {No relation to Jesse McCartney} He sings most of their songs, now he has a group of his own and they don’t have any special name…just Paul McCartney.

Ringo Starr Ringo was the drummer for the Beatles. He was the youngest one in the group. He didn’t sing many of their songs…but he usually sang one song on every album. He and Paul are the only members that are still alive.

George Harrison The Beatles lead guitarist was George Harrison. He also wrote most of their songs, such as: “As My Guitar Gently Weeps” and “Something”. He was also known for introducing exotic instruments to the band, such as the Indian instrument sitar. George died from a very bad disease in his kidneys or in his liver, I’m not sure witch.
