Characteristics of the system:  The system is based on the concept of “ electronic files”, using Open Source standards  Introduction of ICT at all stages of the judicial procedure  Involvement of the actors involved in the different phases (lawyers; magistrates; registars; public prosecutors) The project was unrealistic due to significant bulid up!!!

Advantages:  Facilitating and reducing costs of circular correspondence  Access to each and every employee  Providing feedback information (“Open document” and “Acquainted” function)  Unlimited access to older documents (“Find” function)

Placing documents (stages): 1. Determining the location of the file and data concerning the document: a. document title or keywords; b. document references; c. document preparation date; d. character of the document; 2. Identifying recipients; 3. Selection in the “Comments” on time to familiarize with the document; 4. Approving the selection automatically makes the document available to the recipients

More efficient operation of the court:  automatic deadline monitoring  developing statistics  cheking the availability of courtrooms  workload studying  verifying accuracy of entered data  over 200 patterns of pleadings

Functions facilitating work:  full personalization of the system  shortcuts for the most frequently performed operatios  the use of bar codes on the verses  compatibility with the postage meter  advanced search and case view

 Status of informatization of the Polish judiciary is at the European level and constantly increases  Harmonization of the systems used by the prosecution and the courts (to exchange information)  Increase the digitization of documents  Possibility for the parties to view documents in electronic form  Increase the computerization of the judiciary

The system will give judges and prosecutors easy access to comprehensive information on the criminal records of any EU citizen, no matter in which EU country that person has been convicted in the past.
