Finishing Safety

When using stains, paints and other finishes Wear eye protection. Wear old clothing or cover your clothes Wear a respirator when spraying finishes. Avoid breathing in toxic fumes Wash your hands after using finishing materials. Turn on the finishing room fan!!!

Finishing Room Safety Do all finishing in a separate, well-ventilated area. Keep the entire area free from spills. Never leave opened finishing materials unattended. Never use tools or machines that can cause sparks or start a fire in the finishing area. All oily rags should be disposed of in the red can.

Using and Storing Solvents Solvents emit dangerous fumes. Use only in a well ventilated area. Many solvents are extremely flammable. Keep all solvents away from sources of heat, sparks, and fire. Store solvents in appropriately marked containers.
