Tile Structures ▪ For two-stream case, there are three possible pilot patterns ▪ For 1-stream case, there are three possible pilot patterns P1P2 P1 Time Freq. P1P2 P1 Time Freq. Tile 2-1Tile 2-2 P1 Time Freq. Tile 2-3 P1 Time Freq. P1 Time Freq. Tile 1-1Tile 1-2 Tile 1-3
Simulation Results (1/3) ▪ Simulation parameters –MIMO case: 2x2 spatial multiplexing setting MMSE detector to recover source symbols –SIMO case: 1x4 setting Maximal ratio combing (MRC) signals from 4 receive antennas –Channel estimator: 2D-MMSE Optimized to predefined velocity speed 60 km/hr Optimized to predefined channel delay spread 5 us –Channel models PB 3 km/hr VA 120 km/hr –Power boosting: 0 dB –4 MCS levels QPSK ½, QPSK ¾, 16QAM ½, 16QAM ¾
Simulation Results (2/3) ▪ MIMO case PB 3 km/hr VA 120 km/hr
Simulation Results (3/3) ▪ SIMO case PB 3 km/hrVA 120 km/hr
Conclusion ▪ For MIMO case, tiles 2-1 and 2-2 have highly close performances – Tile 2-2 has slightly better performance at high mobility case –4-pilot tile can significantly outperform 6-pilot tile at low-mobility case while at high-mobility case 4-pilot and 6-pilot tiles have similar performances –Recommend to adopt tile 2-2 for 2-stream case ▪ For SIMO case, all tiles perform highly similar at low-mobility case – Tile 1-2 have relatively better performance at high-mobility case –Recommend to adopt tile 1-2 for single-stream case
