Jaynie Martinez Victorian monuments had a lot of gothic architecture

The Victoria memorial was made by Sir Thomas Brock It is located between The mall and Buckingham Palace, London. The monument is facing the wall. It was important to include water because that showed Britain's sea power. It has dolphins, sea waves, seahorses, triton and Nereids on the walls of the monument.

The first Victorian cemeteries in England were called the magnificent seven. Kensal Green Cemetery-1832 West Norwood Cemetery-1837 Highgate Cemetery-1839 Abney Park Cemetery-1840 Nunhead Cemetery-1840 Brompton Cemetery-1840 Tower Hamlets-1841 All of these were the first landscaped cemeteries of England.

The Victorian cemeteries would always have many monuments They loved to have symbolism across the grave yards. The cemeteries were actually nature preserves. They looked more nicer and more well kept than today's cemeteries. Some of the Magnificent Seven Cemeteries are still in use today. Millions of people go to see these seven cemeteries every year. They will be enjoyed until they are completely in ruins.

The cemeteries were built because of overflow into church yards. The graves in the churchyards were so overcrowded some graves would even be built on top of one another. Also, the graves would be washed into the newly built sewer system. When they were first built nobody used them that much. People didn’t know what to think of them at first. After time the cemeteries had a massive boom in people using them. The cemeteries never did completely fill up. That is also why they are still in use today. They will continue to stay in use until they fall apart or run out of room.
