Knowledge Part Three

Review Most elements in our life are structured. Most plans that work are simple But we usually fail in trying to build Christians into maturity. These lessons are designed to help us all work with a plan that has proven successful. God’s plan.

Knowing God Recognizing the Deity of God Learning about His Grace Learning how God has made known His will to us. By revelation which we have in written form called the Bible.

Inspiration God revealed Himself to us. How did God do this? Mostly by inspiration. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”

Inspiration The Greek word is Theopneustos It is not found anywhere else in scripture. Yet it is similar to Genesis 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed man of the dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” The breath of life is what makes man live.

Inspiration Jesus used a form of breating to impart knowledge. John 20:22 “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit”. Jesus was delivering their status of Apostles and the Holy Spirit was their helper.

Inspiration Isaiah 59:21 “"As for Me," says the LORD, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the LORD, "from this time and forevermore."

The words of God were not to depart from their mouths But we see time and time again, that there arose a generation which knew not God. The Tattle-tale Game. No matter how simple, the message almost always gets messed up. Well, God started out by asking the fathers and leaders to teach His laws, and commands, but the message was corrupted over (a short) time. Thus the need for a once-for-all time written message that would not change.

All Scripture We cannot ignore any scripture because All scripture is inspired. We cannot pick and choose which law we will follow and which laws we can ignore. 2 Peter 1:21 “for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1: 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

But we have so many translations. True, no translation is inspired But we cannot ignore that the Holy Spirit has brought us the original message. Some people have their preferences Some people will want to discredit the Bible, thus proving that it is obsolete. Every argument has been refuted.

Some people do not like the scriptures as we have them So they write their own. But are these translations trustworthy? No. In order to be trustworthy, they must be accurate in meaning and thought, and actual language. Credibility is key to getting people to buy or publish any work purporting to be the Bible. Obvious error jumps out, but what about the subtle errors that some use.

Conclusion All scripture is God breathed. The mind of God, the words of God, are given to us in written form. The writers of the Bible were inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit. People will look for any excuse to remove the inspiration of scripture, so that they are not subject to it.
