Digital Collection of TUT Library

DC in brief Digital Collection (DC) is an institutional repository managed by the library, which provides free access to scholarly work of the university. The aim of the repository – to offer web-based open access primarily to the dissertations of TUT, master`s and bachelor`s theses, digitized teaching materials and textbooks, scholarly publications of TUT.

DC in brief D igital Collection contains also digitized old rare journals in technical field, publications of TUT history, annual reports of research and development activities of TUT, some scholarly publications of TUT, publications composed by TUT Library.

DC in brief Library was started with DC project in 2005,collecting the first electronic versions of dissertations of TUT. DC is the MySQL database designed and developed by our IT specialist. For metadata is used the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set Standard. After insertion a new publication, the link into the Estonian e-catalogue ESTER will be added. An opportunity of simple and advanced search. Materials in DC are under the copyright.

DC in brief

Digital Collection of TUT Library is connected with Estonian digital culture heritage portal Digiveeb, which is operated by Estonian Ministry of Culture and with open access repository OpenDOAR. Purpose – to join with the DART-Europe E-theses Portal
