Renaissance

End of Middle Ages brought new inventions, ideas, creations, art, literature, reform/change to Church, new Christian branch & exploration. People started to “wake up” A rebirth = renaissance. Renaissance > Europe advances in art, literature and science Started in Italy.

Trade routes from Middle East & Asia went to Med. Sea, then to Italy via merchants. Goods and ideas spread into Italy’s cities. Merchants, bankers & nobles became wealthy. They became patrons = used $ to encourage, pay & develop art & science. Most talented people in Italy.
