Purpose The purpose of the Department of School Improvement is to assist schools in building capacity and sustainability in their drive for excellence to ensure state and federal requirements are met.

Improve Student Outcomes Build Sustainable Success The goal of School Improvement will focus on supporting existing and facilitating future - School Improvement Collaboration Promote inquiry based improvement across schools to improve teaching and learning Provide meaningful venue for sharing innovations for the benefit of all Improve Student Outcomes Increase student achievement in targeted schools Increase On Time Graduation Rates Build Sustainable Success An effective, efficient data collection, and analysis process Root cause analysis Action planning and execution Inquiry based improvement focuses closely on the skill gaps of struggling students, observes them in classrooms, and develops instruction to meet their learning targets An effective, efficient data collection and analysis process: Schools succeed when staff understand clearly how to review measures of performance and correlate those to their own instructional practice. Root cause analysis: Identifying the root causes of poor student performance, eliminating those that are outside of the control of the school division and focusing intensely on those remaining. Action planning and execution: Developing a clear action plan with accountability of individuals, timelines and measurements for fidelity.
