11 TH GRADE EXHIBITION

11 TH GRADE FOCUS This year you should focus on career paths and preparing for your future As 11th graders, you are required to attend a college fair or college tour AND do 20 hours of community service This is a chance to find which colleges you want to choose from As a student at Crawford you will have many opportunities to attend career fairs and college tours Stay up to date with events by asking your counselor and advisor Keep track of your community service hours on a log sheet

YOUR EXHIBITION You will display your learning and experience via a PowerPoint presentation in your advisory class. Presentation Dates 9 th : Tuesday, June 4 10 th & 11 th : Friday, May 31 This will prepare you for your senior exhibition

OVERVIEW OF THE EXHIBITION POWER POINT About Me Age, Biography, Mission Statement Academic Information Grades, Attendance, Academic Awards Challenge Challenges that occurred and how it was overcame Best Works 3 Best work of your choice during the school year Future Plans Now and Into the Future; college,career, and personal goals Grade level requirement 9 th Campus involvement, 10 th Community service, 11 th Community service & College tour/fair Summary of Year Summary of your whole year; positives

EXHIBITION RUBRIC This is the exhibition rubric and is how you will be graded when presenting your PowerPoint.

DO’S Look at the audience Stand with good posture Keep it simple Make sure the words are legible Do Not’s Presentation Read off the board Chew gum Add unnecessary animations Use slang

DRESS TO IMPRESS Wear formal clothes! Guys: Dress shirt, dress pants, dress shoes (Tie strongly recommended) Girls: Formal skirt/blouse or dress pants No casual clothes Sneakers, t-shirts, tank tops, sandals, etc. You want to look professional Think as if you are going to a job interview or to church

BE PREPARED Plan ahead! February – March Work on completing all grade level requirements Prepare your Exhibition PowerPoint (Slowly work on it so that you don’t have a whole PowerPoint due last minute) April – May Complete Exhibition PowerPoint May Clean up and look over your Exhibition PowerPoint for mistakes. Practice, practice, practice! Use notecards if needed
