FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 Meetings are held in the English Computer Lab (2308) at 2:30 PM on the first Friday of each month. Make up meetings are in Mrs. Munoz’s room (2318) the following Monday morning at 6:45 AM. However, additional meetings may be called. If meeting times or the places are changed, you will be notified in advance by the officers.  A typical meeting usually lasts approximately 30 minutes. When and where are meetings held? How long do they last?

 Make-up meetings are held the following Monday morning at 6:45 AM in Mrs. Munoz’s room (2318) after regular NEHS meetings.  If you miss both regular and make –up meetings, you must bring a acceptable note explaining your absence by the end of the week.  You are only allowed one absence per semester! If I miss a meeting, what should I do?

 You can turn in fundraiser money and late dues to Mrs. Munoz in Room  Cash or a check made out to the Dawson NEHS is acceptable.  Please submit all money in an envelope labeled with your full name. I need to turn in late dues or fundraiser money. Who do I give it to?

 NEHS members are required to complete 5 service hours each semester. (5 hours must be turned in during the fall semester, and 5 hours must be turned in during the spring semester.)  You will be required to complete 10 extra service hours if you want cords. YES, YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS FOR ALL CONSECUTIVE YEARS. How many service hours must I complete in a year?

 You can document your service hours by filling out the service hours sheet found on the NEHS Forms page of our website (nehs.yolasite.com).  Print out the sheet, and be sure to bring the form to all your volunteer events. Signatures are required for each event you participate in.  The hours will be logged monthly. UtNkFhbEs1YWkwT1ZiREtIaGRKQlE&usp=sharing How do I document my service hours?

 Attend a literary event (theater performance, movie based of a book, school play, etc.).  Turn in your ticket stub/program from the event + essay response reviewing the event (500 words minimum) + hour form to Mrs. Munoz. Each event will give you 2.5 NEHS hours.  SENIORS: Attendance at any of these event (on the list) can be doubled for NEHS hours. Where can I get my service hours?

 Volunteer to help English teachers/librarians before and after school.  Participate in the English and Literature Club’s activities.  Many other events held throughout the year. Where can I get my service hours?
