What is a brag sheet? A brag sheet is a form that lists all of your accomplishments during your 4 years of high school.

Why do I need a brag sheet? When you are a senior, you will be applying for scholarships and for college. Applications will often ask you for community service, clubs, sports, and activities that you have been involved in. It will be difficult to remember all of the activities that you have been involved in during your high school years if you don’t write them down. In order to obtain a letter of recommendation from a teacher, a brag sheet or academic resume will be required.

When should I start a brag sheet? Start the Brag Sheet during your freshman year. At the beginning of each term, add to your brag sheet so that you have a list of all of your activities, awards, community service, sports, etc.

What should I include on the brag sheet? AP courses and scores Honors/Awards Clubs, Service Organizations, Government Organizations Non-School Activities/Jobs Community/Volunteer Service Sports

What else should I include? Record any leadership roles that you have held Record the school year when you were involved in the activity/sport/community service organization Record the number of hours that you have spent in your activities/community service organizations.

WARNING: ** Only include hours for activities/community service that you have completed during your high school years. You cannot include anything from junior high or elementary school. **

Where can I find the Brag Sheet form? On the PVHS website, under the Career Center link, you will find a Brag Sheet form that you can download. Go to: www.pvhspanthers.org and then click on Career Center

Where should I keep the brag sheet? Keep it in a safe location so that you do not lose the information Your Student Service Plan Folder would be a great place to keep the Brag Sheet, or ask you Panther Forum teacher if they can keep the form for you

Academic Resume For Seniors

What is an academic resume? An academic resume is a way of organizing all of the activities, clubs, community service, sports, etc. that you have been involved in throughout high school

If I have a brag sheet, why do I need an academic resume? The Brag Sheet is a form for you to collect all of your information, but it is not a very formal looking document. It is a rough draft. The Academic Resume takes your information and organizes it in a way that looks professional and is easy to read.

When will I need an academic resume? When you are applying for college or are applying for scholarships, you may be asked to include the information on the Academic Resume. You can attach the Academic Resume to your applications. Once you have the Academic Resume complete, you will be able to print multiple copies of the document and use the resume for multiple applications – this will save you time! When you ask a teacher for a letter of recommendation, they will require an academic resume
