University Archives & Records Management in the Hargrett Library

We are…. A Corporate Archive (both a corporate memory & a living file for conducting business) & a State Government Archive (Open Records Law for democratic accountability) & an Educational Institution Archive (FERPA & GLB protection) & a Home for Associated Archives of scholarly societies

Records Management Program Front end of archiving program Educates, advises and stores to prevent illegal destruction Provides secure and documented destruction for items not of archival value Channels items or archival value to archives ….so, it’s all automatic…

Yeah, Sure Still must educate, solicit, and grab with scholarly intent from offices and donors to develop archive Beyond state mandated items must work to collect fun stuff that shows life at UGA – photos, posters, diaries, scrapbooks, lithographs, painted gourds, etc.
