What is creative thinking? A matter of habits. How can we become more creative? By practicing good thinking strategies. A. how to become a great thinker B. how to improve your IQ C. how to become more creative What will the rest of the article be about?

How do you connect all the dots with only four straight lines?

Strategies to improve creativity --- What are good thinking strategies ? Think outside the box--- Take another look at it--- Make connections--- Keep trying---

Genius ( 天才 ) is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration( 汗水 ) Thomas Alva Edison Example I Thomas Edison made a rule saying that he had to make an invention every ten days.

Example II Example II Albert Einstein, who changed the world of physics with his Theory of Relativity, preferred images to numbers. Forget about the numbers… Let’s draw!

This is a successful TV commercial for a cold medicine. ☺ Good solutions and new ideas are often the result of a change in perception.

Example III Bionics( 仿生学 ) is a science based on biological behavior that can be applied to machine designs and human development.

Confucius( 孔夫子 ) says, by reviewing the old knowledge, one can gain new ideas. 子曰: “ 温故而知新, 可以为师矣。 ” ☺ Every new thought or idea has to be connected to what we already know. ☺ It is easy to limit the possibilities of a new idea by connecting it to only one area of our previous knowledge.

Example IV A tent maker, Levi Strauss, joined the gold rush ( 淘金梦 ) in San Francisco in the 1850s. He saw an opportunity to make working clothing for the diggers. His success led him to this world famous brand of clothing --- Levi’s. He got very rich selling jeans.

What is to “think outside the box”? ☺ To think outside the box is to try new ways to solve a problem. ☺ To rephrase a problem to allow for creative solutions. ☺ To make a conscious effort to break away from old thought patterns. 幻灯片 14

What is the “box”? Charles Danis, Director of the US Patent Office( 美国专利 局 ), said in 1899, "Everything that can be invented has been invented." People laughed at Galileo( 伽利略 ) when he doubted Aristotle’s( 亚里士多德的 ) theory. NASA( 美国航天局 ) spent millions of dollars trying to invent a ballpoint pen that could be used to write in space. However, the Russian astronauts used a pencil.

Get out of your box!

Invent!

Change it to… Add something…

Brainstorm-- What can you create out of them?

Creativity is the place where no one else has ever been. You cannot get there by bus, only by hard work, taking risks and by keeping on trying. What you will discover will be wonderful--- yourself.

Homework ---What will you think of next? Problem solving--- 1.Drop an egg from a height of 15 meters, not to break it. 2.Free up your brain. 3.Discuss the solution as a group. 4.Present the plan. 5.A drawing is required.

Group organizer: Group presenter: Note-taker:Draw the plan Drawer: Think outside the box (What is the new part of your plan? ) Take another look at it (How does your perception change? The drawing?) Make connections (What old knowledge that you connect it to? Who or what gave you such inspiration?) Keep trying (How many ways did you try? Do the former trials help you move towards a better solution?) 更多资源 xiti123.taobao.com
