The Bible Is God’s Word Catechism Questions 9-12

Dear __________, I’ll be sending you $1000 in the very near future. Love,

Why is it important for me to know that the Bible is verbally inspired?

What do we mean when we say that God gave us the Bible by “verbal inspiration”? 1 Thessalonians 2:13 2 Peter 1:21 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 Verbal inspiration means that the Holy Spirit guided men to record the exact words that he wanted them to write.

What is one reason it is important for me to know that the Bible is verbally inspired? John 10:35 John 17:17 Numbers 23:19 Because the Bible is verbally inspired I can be sure that it has no errors and that all its promises will be kept.

What is a second reason it is important for me to know that the Bible is verbally inspired? Deuteronomy 4:2 Revelation 22:18,19 2 Peter 3:16 Jude 4 Because the Bible is verbally inspired, I will not want to add to it, subtract from it, or change its meaning in any way.

God’s Word and My Life Evaluate. "I believe that the Bible is God's Word because it makes so much sense." What are some of the ways the devil gets people to change the Bible? Why does the devil do this?

The Holy Spirit …guided men to write the scriptures.

Inspiration the words Verbal were breathed in by the Holy Spirit!

No errors No unkept promises Since God wrote the Bible…

…we are to handle it with care. Since God wrote the Bible… Don’t subtract Don’t add Don’t change meaning

Why is it important for me to know that the Bible is verbally inspired? It is important for me to know that the Bible is verbally inspired because then I will trust what it says and never change it in any way.
