Present Continuous Actions/situations going on at the moment
Actions of situations happening now. I am cooking dinner. She is relaxing in her room. He is talking on the phone.
Use present continuous for temporary situations. NOT: habitual or permanent situations
Present Simple Actions that happen repeatedly, all the time, or at any time. My mom makes the best cookies. In the morning she feeds the cat. She drinks tea and watches TV at night.
Form Subject + is / are / am + verb—ing (present participle) He is watching the movie. Negative: Subject + is / are / am + not verb—ing He is not watching the movie. Interrogative: Is / Are + subject + verb—ing ? Is he watching the movie?
The structure in Spanish and English is similar. El senor esta andando en su bicicleta. = sujeto verbo ser o estar verbo terminando en --ando o --iendo complemento. The man is riding on his bicycle. = subject verb to be verb ending in --ing (gerund) complement.
