THE WOODRUFF KEY The Woodruff Key was introduced to Sunrise Rotary by Warren Andrews, a former club member, now deceased. Warren worked for the City of Lethbridge in his capacity as the Director of Public Operations. His engineering background speaks to the key which has been used as a unique symbol of our membership in Sunrise and Rotary. The Woodruff Key is presented to new members as a reminder to all of us that the Rotary Wheel can only rotate and be alive with a key that is inserted in the cogs of the wheel. It is also a reminder that each member is integral for the Rotary Wheel to function effectively.

Our guest speaker Oct 1 was Dr. Drew Cahoon, a member of the Raymond Rotary Club. Drew recently returned from a tour of dental facilities in Africa. The reason? He has led a program which has supplied 90 per cent of the equipment to three dental schools in Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. Also on his itinerary, 23 hospital dental clinics at which his group has supplied dental chairs and a lot of other equipment. We can expect a lively and passionate talk about how a small town Alberta dentist got so interested in dental health in deepest Africa.
