1 Workshop Objectives Identify problems & their remedies Develop cross-project collaborations Share information about research and research methods Obtain feedback from colleagues and stakeholders Encourage publication of papers Lay groundwork for summary and synthesis

2 Sessions A, B, C & D 2 presentations to stimulate discussion 90+ minutes discussion –Each project to share experiences, approaches, methods, problems –Focus on problems and their solutions Output: list of recommended joint actions to resolve problems

3 Small Group Consultations To meet with & seek advice from mentors, other participants To develop collaborative activities with other projects To work in your project teams Time included on daily schedule –But also use mornings, evenings, lunch, other breaks for these consultations

4 Small Group Consultations Each AIACC project team should schedule a time to meet with –Neil & Sara –Mentors (Tom Downing, Bruce Hewitson, Paul Desanker, Xianfu Lu) –Ana Iglesias about Web-database Sign-up for times during 10 am break

5 Tutorials Tutorials are being scheduled based on Monday’s sign-up Rooms & topics for today’s tutorials will be posted during lunch

6 Carousels & Session E 3 Carousels to brainstorm about –Linking AIACC to policy & stakeholders –Planning for AIACC summary & synthesis –A 2nd phase of AIACC? Session E (Thursday) will return to these topics

7 Carousel - how it works Each carousel has 3 stations, each with an assigned discussion question. Group divides into 3 smaller groups, each going to a station –To brainstorm for 10 minutes while rapporteur records ideas. After 10 minutes each group shifts to next station –To add to and modify the ideas recorded from previous group After another 10 minutes each group shifts again –To organize/prioritize ideas of previous group
