 Finish Group Datasets Group data has been collected on 24 trees (UTM coordinates, pictures of tree species, circumference, clinometer angle, horizontal distance) In class: 1. Use collected data to calculate circumference and height – due by the end of class, Friday Jan. 23 (excel_forgroup dataWEEK2.xls) 2. Use last year’s tree IDs to ID as many of the trees in your tree powerpoint pictures as possible – due by the end of class, Friday Jan. 23

 Finish Group Datasets 3. Send an for any trees you can’t ID - due by the end of class, Friday Jan. 22 Resources for Tree Identification: Curtis Clark, PhD Biological Sciences Cal Poly Pomona, Pomona CA He will look at photos sent by

Resources for Tree Identification: Mike Brown Biological Sciences Curator at BioTrek Hi Sara, I saw your students doing the forestry measurements and thought it was cool. I would be glad to help. The best way for contact is for them to me when they would like to meet me at BioTrek, building 4A, and I’ll confirm if I can meet at the given time. I’ll probably not be here Fridays for a while, but I’m on campus M-Th about 9 – 5, except I take a lunch around 11:30 or 12:00. They are also welcome to just drop by BioTrek and try to catch me. Mike

4. Put the 3 groups data together and create a full class database of 60 trees - due by the end of class, Friday Jan. 22 (each person needs to take a copy of the datset with them, there will be some unidentified trees). In class if time, or outside of class next week: 6. Each group will use their UTM coordinates to map the location of their trees and hand in the map. (Andre has a help file for this, your final map will have all tress identified). 7. Remember, your individual analysis and write up using the full class dataset is due in class on Friday Feb. 6 th
