I will be able to use annotations and small group discussion to better understand who the progressives were and what their goals were.

C=conversation, we will be sharing out during group discussion, be RESPECTFUL do not speak over one another and be an active listener. H=help, please raise your hand A=activity, you are responding to the text and your peers. M=movement, you not all you materials have been given to your groups P=participation means no heads down, no cell phones, we are supporting our arguments citing evidence from the text.

Read your quote and reflect (2 minutes) Now talk to the person that is sitting directly across from you and share out your reflection and infernces about the text. (3 minutes) Now join the other members of your table and share out your infrences and thoughts (5 minutes)

Read the text! Be an active learner, annotate as you read, make connections, record thoughts, ask questions!

Now share out with your group ONE at a time and share on phrase that you highlighted and explain why that stood out to you, each person will speak for ONE MINUTE After the person sharing out is done the group has 3 minutes to comment on the speakers comments or the text it’s self. Repeat the process till all group members have gone.
