Welcome Parents Moonen’s Earth Science Class
To get to Moonen’s website Google “Jenks Moonen” For notes and worksheets look under Fall Semester, for the syllabus and lab agreement look under important documents
General Information: Daily assignments are posted on the board each day. Students should be keeping a record of all assignments and due dates in their agenda. - -prepare students for advanced science classes and the EOI exam (it’s next year!) -helps promote critical thinking ---covers process skills as well as content (I teach thinking and testing skills for free)
-anything not finished in class is HOMEWORK unless otherwise informed during class -students usually correct papers as we discuss questions -projects will be announced in class -Lab – closed-toed tennis-like shoes always! and long pants or skirts (to ankles) are required for some labs (all for safety) - Binder- students are to always have it with them in class; I can grade it at anytime with no warning!
How can you help? -Check your kiddo’s agenda. Are they writing their daily agenda in it? -make sure your child is keeping up with their homework. -make sure your child is learning their vocab words -encourage use of the book resources -stay organized- all students are required to maintain a 3-ring science only binder. -the notes we take in class and vocabulary are the “study guide” for tests -help them develop good study skills -Check my website periodically
Book resource: It has a button on it that will play the chapter for them.
