Location Concerns Ambient Noise! Always listen to determine if there is an ideal spot in a given location. Reflective surfaces and reverberation Wind Proximity to sound source and directionality of the sound. Always consider time of day sounds, atmospheric conditions, ground material. With people, consider the sound of their clothing jewelry, furniture they are sitting on and anything they may be fidgeting with. Be sure to record details of your session at the start of your recording. This includes technical ones (sample rate, microphone used, etc) as well as location details.
