Light is an electromagnet radiation that comes in waves. Light is an electromagnet radiation that comes in waves. Plants absorb light to produce fruits, flowers etc. Plants absorb light to produce fruits, flowers etc. They look green because they reflect green light, they don’t absorb it. They look green because they reflect green light, they don’t absorb it. Phytochrome is the proteins in a plant that allows it to sense the color of light. Our Hypothesis: If we create three wire domes and cover each with a different color of tissue paper (red, green and blue) and put a plant in each and we keep one plant in natural lighting, we predict that the green dome will help the plants grow the best. We observed that the plants that had tissue paper over them weren’t getting enough sun and therefore not enough nutrients. The plant in natural light was getting sun directly and got it’s nutrients that it needed from the sun. In the end, when we counted all of the leaves on the plants, the plant in natural light was able to grow more leaves then the others.

Our Conclusion: In the end, our hypothesis was Incorrect. We predicted that the plant under the green tissue paper would grow the healthiest. We were incorrect because it did not get as many nutrients as the plants in natural light. If we were to change our hypothesis, we would predict that the plant in natural light would grow the healthiest. Something that we would change in our experiment was be more clear on the amount of water that we watered every other day. We discovered that as long as you do not grow your plants in artificial light, they will grow better then those that do. We recommend to farmers to grow your plants in natural light.
