Introduction During the first six/seven weeks the program is designed to focus on : -Letters recognition in sounds(c/k). -Vocabulary for each letter as beginning sounds. -Sight Words. -Short vowels words. -Shapes,colors and numbers. -Building simple sentences. -Reading simple sentences.

Curriculum Contents - Reading books (Trophies).Three books/four. -Phonics book level (A) (Harcourt). -Language book. -Practice book. -Home work notebook.

Reading and Phonemic awareness -Reading word parts( a letter with a short vowel ca - mo ). -Reading three letters words(car –hot ). -Reading the sight words( without spelling). -Reading simple sentences ( sight words with three letters words).

Spelling - A spelling list will be sent every Thursday.(Daily Practice). -The test will be on the next Thursday. -The spelling list starts by simple three letters words or sight words. -Simple sentences.

Homework -A weekly schedule will be on the schools site by Thursdays. -The home work will be sent from the Homework note and extra worksheets. -Some extra worksheets might be sent according to your child's needs.

Late Homework -Late Homework will be handled as follows: -1- Note to the parents. -2- Parents will summoned to school and Administration takes an action. - Late homework will affect your child's learning badly.

Homework -The homework must be kept in the green folder. -The checked papers must be kept at home. -The home work must be done neatly. - Parents have to take a look at the homework file every day.

Take Home Story -Enhances reading ( sight words and three letters words) - Will be sent weekly or every other week. -Encourage children to retell the story. -Keep the stories in a special cabin. -Help your child to build his/her own home library. “Today a READER tomorrow a LEADER “

Newsletter - A news letter will be sent on Thursday to tell you all about the skills that we have covered through the week ( the letters, sight words that we have already covered). So you can revise with your child at home.

Communication -Following up helps your child to be on the class level. - Replying to teachers comments helps to improve your child's level. -Attending Parents meetings. -Don’t wait to get the report -card to know your child's level.
