Natural Resources Water is an important resource in the southeast. The Atlantic Ocean is a major water resource that provides millions of fish each year.

Farming is another major resource along with mining.

Economy People in the southeast farm: tobacco, soybeans, peanuts and raise livestock. (cows, pigs, chicken) Some people work in office jobs. Since the climate is mild many people come to visit the Southeast. Tourism is a major part of the economy. $$$$$$

The Southeast Today The growth of the southeast region has been slow. Life has been a struggle. Many people still live in small towns. Technology and manufacturing have only become a major part of the southeast within the last 20years. Costal cities have become booming tourist sites. (beaches)
