Presentation transcript:

By : Lauren Rockwell

One day, I was at the beach and I saw some people with really bad sunburns all over them. They were laughing like it was nothing and like they didn’t even notice, but you never know, one of them could get skin cancer some day. You can get skin cancer from the sun because of it’s UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays can give you wrinkles and a tan and UVB rays can give you a sunburn. They can both give you Skin Cancer, but you are more likely to get skin cancer from UVA rays, because they cause wrinkles which can also give you skin cancer. Fortunately, we have many ways to protect ourselves.

A UV PROTECTIVE SUN HAT Some people protect themselves by wearing a sun hat in the sun. It is good to wear it in the sun because it can protect you from a sunburn on your face and not give you wrinkles.

A SUN UMBRELLA Some people bring a sun umbrella to the beach so that they can protect themselves from the sun. It can block the sun from your body and protect you from a sunburn.

SUNGLASSES Some people wear sunglasses when they are in the sun so the sun isn’t in their eyes, but you can also wear them to protect your eye area so you don’t get a sunburn.

SPF SHOWINGS OF PROTECTION These are SPF showings of protection, a lot of people check them on sunscreens before they buy them, because it shows how well it protects you from the sun. It is good to look at them because if you get a low SPF showing of protection, then it is more likely for you to get a sunburn.

INGREDIENTS TO SUNSCREEN These are ingredients to sunscreen and people should always look at them so if someone in their family is allergic to something, they can make sure that there is nothing in the sunscreen that is bad for the person.

A SUNBURNED SHOULDER This is why you should wear sunscreen because you can get a sunburn like the sunburn shown in the picture. Sunscreen protects you from the sun and it’s harmful ways like getting a sunburn and skin cancer.

SOMEONE TANNING This is someone tanning. It is okay to tan, but it can still give you skin cancer, so be careful because it can also give you a sunburn which can lead to serious skin damage.

People love the sun. The sun makes a lot of people happy in different ways. The sun also provides Vitamin D, so a lot of people go in the sun for that, to tan and enjoy the day. People also love the sun, and it’s great abilities, but people also have to keep in mind that we should always protect ourselves when we are going in the sun and doing outdoor activities, such as sports, games and even just for walks and runs.
