What to Expect HOMEWORK – not daily, but frequent ESSAYS – about 4 a year (narrative, argument, informative) BOOK REPORTS – possibly READING AT HOME – trade books, textbook DAILY NOTEBOOKS– journals, notes, vocab, tracking TEXTBOOKS – students get a copy of Holt Elements of Literature (yellow) & Elements of Language (green)

Grading 80% Assessment 20% Classwork/Homework Grades - average about 2 a week Essays - plan for about a month
