How to calculate your GPA Your Transcript How to calculate your GPA

RIS Grading System Percentage Value Letter Grade Regular Grade Point Weighted Grade Point* 93 - 100 A 4.00 4.50 90 – 92 A- 3.67 4.17 87 – 89 B+ 3.33 3.83 83 – 86 B 3.00 3.50 80 – 82 B- 2.67 3.17 77 – 79 C+ 2.33 2.83 73 – 76 C 2.00 2.50 70 – 72 C- 1.67 2.17 67 – 69 D+ 1.33 63 – 66 D 1.00 60 – 62 D- 0.67 59 or below F 0.00

Weighting Weighted GPA’s are only used for HL and AP classes and only for grades of a C- or higher.

Step 1: Convert the letter grade into a number using the table. 4.0 B 3.0 B+ 3.33 A- 3.67 C+ 2.33

Step 2: Multiply by the number of credits each course is worth. 4.0 X .5 = 3.0 X .75 = 3.33 X .75 = 3.67 X .5 = 2.33 X .5 = 3.0 X .5 = 2 2.25 2.49 1.83 1.16 1.5

Step 3: Add all the numbers and divide by the total possible credits. 2 + 2.25 + 2.49 + 1.83 + 1.16 + 1.5 11.23 / 3.5 = 3.20857 Which rounds to: 3.21 This is the GPA! = 11.23

Step 4: Calculate the average of each semester GPA 9th Grade 3.29 3.33 10th Grade 3.85 3.76 11th Grade 3.74 3.84 Average: 3.63

Things to Check Your GPA is correct. The courses listed are correct. Your summer school courses are listed.
