Recycle We are recycling Paper and Glass to keep our school a better place

Recycling The reason why we recycle Paper Glass and Plastic is because less energy is used in making products from recycled goods than completely new ones

Energy Bulbs We use Energy Saving Bulbs to save energy in school and cut down on the bill.

Lights St.Mary’s also changed over to energy saving light bulb. It reduces electricity by half. It saves energy a lot.

We are turning off the lights at lunch time. We have a click team. What they have to do is turn off the lights when everyone is leaving and then a team (Conor and Ciarán) go around and make sure that the lights are off if they are they get a tick and if they don't they get a X

Water Waste We stop water wastage by turning off the taps when we’re not using them.

Travel We can reduce burning fossil fuels by taking short trips by walking or going on a bike instead of using a car.

Insulation In St.Mary’s we are getting insulation put in the roof. Senior Infants, 1 st class, 2 nd class, 3 rd class and all the corridors got it first.
