I used chalk and charcoal in the background and fixed the little boy and girl’s hair using cut, paste, and spot healing.

I changed the photo to black and white then selected the banister behind the boys. I created a new layer and then used the fill tool to make it yellow. I made the yellow transparent to show the 3D features of the banister.

I brightened the entire image and then selected around the people. I then copied the people onto a new layer. On the original layer, I blurred the background. I then put the image of the people over the background and smudged around the image to blend the figures into the background. I brightened the little girl’s dress to be more pink.
