Research Administrator’s Forum Hilltop Campus Presented by the Research Office and Sponsored Projects Accounting March 7, 2003

HRMS - Distribution  Data available for the period 7/1/01 to the present.  Distributions from HRMS (mon & bwk) and PERSPAY (cnb & cnm) can be retrieved via on-line query.  Query by person or account. See PeopleTools-Query Manager...  Data is presented by Pay Period End date. Check Date and Accounting Date fields are presented on query.

HRMS - PCTs  A PCT effects only one pay period (monthly or biweekly).  PCT amounts are posted back to the original distribution period (pay period end date) in HRMS. A PCT adjusting the 11/02 distribution, will be presented as a 11/02 transaction (in cnm or cnb pay group).  Each PCT is assigned a Cost Xfer(transfer) number.

HRMS - Queries Data can be obtained on-line via HRMS Query Manager. 15 Public Queries are available to users with proper security access. Details available at: es.html

PERSPAY - Distribution  PERSPAY system is still accessible (history only).  Distribution data for 7/1/00 through 12/31/02 is available.  Data is presented by Pay Date (check date). Date paid (biweekly) is five days after actual pay period end date.

PERSPAY - PCTs  PCTs for the period 7/1/ /31/02 are available on-line.  PCTs are presented by transaction/ledger date (FIS).  PCTs processed by HRMS that effect history (prior to 1/1/03) are not presented.

FOCUS  Contains data from HRMS and PERSPAY.  Contains original distributions and PCTs (from HRMS & PERSPAY).  Data is displayed by Pay Date and/or Transaction/Ledger Date.  History available back to 7/92.

FICA Limit  New 2003 FICA limit was installed in GBUD on 3/5/03 (RNews announcement).  Salary limit has been extended to $87,000 for calendar  7.65% of first $87,000 and 1.45% on salary in excess of that level.  Calendar 2004 limit will be $90,900.

NIH Salary Cap  New rate of $171,900, effective 1/1/03.  WU policy updated and distributed on 2/25/03 (see  Rates updated in HRMS on 2/28/03.  HRMS will apply new rate to all awards issued on or after 10/01/00.  Can charge lower rate but difference must be charged to V account.
