4 Proposed Process The poll will be conducted as consistently as possible with the procedures used in an ordinary council election: Conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission Residents and ratepayers on the municipal voters’ roll for Hume city Council as if a council election was being conducted By postal vote Ballot packs to be sent by post with background information on the poll and instructions on how to make a formal vote Voluntary voting
5 Proposed Timelines Timelines will be determined by the Victorian Electoral Commission. An indicative timeline of major activities is: Voter roll close mid August Notice of the poll published in local media end August to mid September Poll material mailed out to voters at the start of October Close of voting 6pm Friday 25 October Counting of votes commence Saturday 26 October Count per ward and also for whole of Hume Result notified to the Minister as soon as possible thereafter
