Presentation Objective  To become familiar with the benefits of using Odesi for:  finding/getting data, and  creating simple tables.

PRESENTATION OUTINE, or 5 Fun Things to know about Odesi 1.Odesi is your Destination for Canadian Data! 2.Your Library is here to help you with Odesi! 3.Odesi is like other Library databases in providing access to information 4.Odesi is not like other Library databases. It provides details and tools for “data”, which you will need. 5.The Library takes you further. There are other library stops you can make besides Odesi for accessing data

Your Destination for Canadian Data: ODESI  Odesi has data from hundreds of Statistics Canada surveys:  all the surveys for this course,  one-stop for survey data  … from the names of the surveys all the way to the survey questions and answers  and includes cool tools you can use to find the answers to your own questions relating to Statistics Canada surveys

Why Canadian data?  Data is important for good public policy, research, innovation, and more  E.g., lung cancer risks for men and women
