BEING A SOCIAL WORKER MEANS You will never be bored. You will always be frustrated. You will always be surrounded by challenges. So much to do and so little time. You will carry immense responsibility and very little authority. You will step into people's lives and you will make a difference. Some will bless you. Some will curse you.

You will see people at their worst and their best. You will never cease to be amazed at people's capacity for love, courage, and endurance. You will see life begin and end. You will experience resounding triumphs and devastating failures. You will cry a lot. You will laugh a lot. You will know what it is to be human and to be humane

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead

Your Social Work Survival Guide

Get ready for IceBreakers!!!

You will be asked what YOU think! What is Self Reflection anyway?

Although Social Work is about helping others, YOU are the medium though which this happens.

What you think you “know” today wont be what you think you “know” tomorrow.

Your career starts when you enter the classroom

“Why would you want to do that?” “Isn't that a burnout career?”

Friends in social work are like your sounding board, support group, cheerleaders and academic advisors all in one.

Social Work begins with your Heart So take care of it!

How many Social Workers does it take to change a light bulb?

None! Social Workers would empower the light bulb to change itself!
