Digital Driver’s License Made to eliminate fraud and abuse 2 Dozen security features Motorists under 21 are issued a vertical license Valid for 4 years

Basic Automobile License For all types of Class D motor vehicles registered by the MVC, except motorcycles. Expiration: 4 Years Minimum Age :18 (or 16 for permit) Permit Fee :$10 Photo License Fee : $24 Tests Required: Knowledge, vision, road Basic License

Probationary License Probationary Automobile License For all types of Class D motor vehicles registered by the MVC, except motorcycles. Expiration: 4 Years Minimum Age :17 Permit Fee: $10 Photo License Fee: $6 2 Tests Required: Knowledge, vision, road

Commercial Driver License: For large trucks, buses and vehicles (Classes A, B and C). Expiration: 4 Years Minimum Age :18/21 3 Permit Fee: $125 4 Photo License Fee: $42 Tests Required: Commercial, knowledge, vision, road Commercial License

Early Bird Road Step 1: Get a Special Learners Permit 16 Years Old Signed Parent/Guardian Consent Enrollment in a Behind-the-Wheel Training Course Approved Instructor must purchase permit Must pass knowledge and vision tests Must pay required fee Special Learner’s Permit validated only after training course completion

Restrictions Special Learners Permit Restrictions No driving between 11:01-5:00 a.m. No hand held or hands free cell phones or any other electrical devices Must be accompanied by a supervising driver at least 21 and who possesses a NJ Drivers License and has a minimum of 3 years driving experience Limited to any parent or guardian and one additional passenger Must display decals Must wear seat belt!
