 You are here to learn and improve your English.  BVC offers may ways outside of the classroom, to improve your English:  Tutorial Centre  Conversation Clubs  Reading/Writing Clubs  Make good use of your time – help yourself to learn.

 You are allowed a maximum of 10 absences.  You must tell your instructor why you are absent. (call or )  If you are absent for 5 days, you will have to see a counsellor. If you are absent for 10 days, you will have to leave Bow Valley College.  If you are late many times, you will have to see the counsellor.  Try to schedule all your appointments before class starts.

 You will not have homework every day, but when you do, you are required to complete it.  You must be prepared to participate in class and that means homework preparation too.  If you are having difficulty doing your homework because of a job, or childcare issues, please talk to me.

 Turn your cell phone to vibrate.  You can receive calls if they are important: - childcare problems - medical emergencies  Don’t text in class.

 Please take the stairs if you are only going up one floor.  Please take the stairs if you are going down two floors.  Always wait for people to get off the elevator before you get on.

 We have to exit the classroom during coffee and lunch breaks  There is a lounge just outside the classroom you can use for breaks  Try to get a locker near your classroom. You must bring your own lock

 No smoking in the building. You can smoke outside but must be 3 metres from the door.  There is no parking available for students.  Please don’t give gifts to your teacher.
